Manhattan, NY +Burglar Stuck In Chimney Rescue+ NYPD ESU Division was called to the scene of 404 West 40th Street and Dyer Avenue early this morning after residents heard cries and yelling in Spanish all night (nearly eight hours) in the walls.
Police arrived and determined that a perp male is locked and stuck in the chimney after trying to make an aerial access into the building from the rooftop. Emergency Service Units police were able to extricate person and he was quickly arrested. FD and EMS were also on the scene, perp was evaluated by EMS.

The suspect, was held on $10,000 bail after he appeared in court, his face smeared with what appeared to be soot. Serafin Gomez Sanchez, 24, was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on charges of second-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Judge Tanya Kennedy set the bail and scheduled his next court appearance for Friday.

That's a lesson to him. Don't call police or any city services next time, and let the damn thing in the chimney slim down enough to get out of it by itself.
