New York - Manischewitz Buys Rokeach, Mishpacha

New York - R.A.B. Food Group, and Rokeach Food announced that R.A.B. Food Group has purchased substantially all of the assets and assumed certain specified liabilities of the privately held Rokeach. The Rokeach brands include, among others, Rokeach, Mishpacha. Rokeach is also the exclusive importer and distributor of Elite Confectionary products. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Through its R.A.B. Food Group, manufactures and markets Manischewitz, Horowitz Margareten, brand products. R.A.B. Food Group's B. Manischewitz Company is a 118 year old branded food manufacturer and is the nation's largest manufacturer of processed kosher food products including matzos, noodles, crackers, cakes, cookies, soups and processed fish products.
R.A.B. Holdings, Inc. through its Millbrook Distribution Services Inc. subsidiary is the nation's largest full service independent distributor of specialty foods, health and beauty care products and general merchandise to supermarkets and mass market retailers in 48 states. Millbrook also carries a line of its own private label brands as well as store brands and other special.

    Surprising though that kedem didn't buy the wine part of manishevitz.

    What is suprising about Kedem not Manischewitz? Manischewitz is not for sale.

    Gefen is owned by Kedem and also, not for sale.

    I hope that this will not hurt the average consumers pocket, the big guys get bigger and more greedy.....which means more dollars for THEIR pocket not the consumers...
