New York, NY - FBI Probes GOP Convention Arrests By NYPD
New York, NY - The FBI wants to hear from protesters who may have been wrongly arrested during the Republican National Convention, and it’s asking for help from a civil liberties group to do so.
It’s part of a criminal civil rights investigation of the NYPD.
In a letter from the FBI to the New York Civil Liberties Union, dated May 11th, the special agent in charge of the case writes: "We are attempting to determine if any police officers' conduct violated federal civil rights statues."
