New York, NY - Fleet Week Jets Rumble Over City

New York, NY - The booming sound of jet engines in the city skies startled and in some cases scared many people around town. More than 850 callers flooded the city's 311 hotline concerned about the unexpected flyovers.

The city has been telling people the flyover was part of Fleet Week, but there has been some confusion. The Navy says it was members of the Blue Angels flying over the city to advertise an air show this weekend.

Regardless, authorities say there was no cause for alarm.
