Brooklyn, NY - Maimonides Medical Center Receives $4 Million Grant

Brooklyn, NY - Maimonides Medical Center has been awarded a $4 million grant as part of the Healthcare Efficiency and Affordability Law for New Yorkers (HEAL NY).
This grant will allow Maimonides to spearhead an initiative that extends beyond the walls of the hospital. It will enable participating healthcare providers to safely share essential clinical data at the point of care. “We’re delighted that the State of New York has recognized our leadership in healthcare information technology,” said Pamela Brier, president and CEO of Maimonides Medical Center. “This grant will benefit our patients and the Brooklyn community in countless ways.”

The funding will support the development of the Brooklyn Health Information Exchange (BHIE), a consortium of healthcare providers in the region. BHIE was formed to create a secure electronic infrastructure for sharing clinical information among multiple healthcare organizations.
