Gadiner, NY - Lakewood Man and New Paltz Woman Involved in MVA
Gadiner, NY - A New Paltz woman was killed and her young son seriously injured Sunday night when her car veered off into oncoming traffic on a curve of Route 44/55.
Kelly Goebel, 42, of New Paltz, was traveling west on a stretch of Route 44/55 between Clove and Trapps Roads when she failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into the eastbound lane.
Goebel's car hit a vehicle driven by Eugene Nakdimen, 54, of Lakewood, N.J.
Goebel suffered massive injuries and was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, where she was pronounced dead. Her son, Jett Capson, 4, suffered internal injuries and was flown to Westchester Medical Center, where he remains in the pediatric intensive care unit.
Nakdimen suffered a broken leg and 11 broken ribs, he was flown to a hospital in Newark, N.J., where he had 2 surgeries since the accident, and other treatment.
