New York - Sunday Morning Beer Sales Permitted
New York - New Yorkers won't have to wait until noon to buy beer anymore. Starting today, a new law went into effect that lets stores sell beer starting at 8:00 on Sunday mornings instead of having to wait until noon.
Governor Pataki signed the law Thursday.
The old rule was part of the blue laws that were originally designed to restrict certain activities on Sunday.
Lawmakers say the new law will make it easier on those who are traveling or just prefer to shop early.

To me, I like to drink beer on Sundays, especially during the nine-days b/c I can't drink wine.
Actually, it is a nice thing to see, that one of that last pieces of the "blue laws", which were designed to enhance the Christian day-of-rest, is off the books.

I see Mark you're not getting it, so let me explain.
Obviously, this guy is from Monroe, so he had no problem to begin with, he went to the Mikvah Yid, or perhaps our great Shloma Shamos/Pinches Meilech, & the problem was solved, so you are wondering why it's no difference for the FD guy?!? (I hope he's not the guy with the KJFD Chief pick up truck driving around town)
