Borough Park, Brooklyn, NY +FD calling PD for Double Parked Vehicles+ Fire Department on the scene requesting NYPD to respond to 47th Street between 12th and 13th Avenue's in the Boro Park section of Brooklyn, NY for numerous double parked vehicles causing a traffic hazard and a grid lock condition in the area.

Many streets in the area are being repaved, large trucks and buses have to go through the area... use your common sense and don't double park. It's dangerous.

These cars were parked for Alternate Side Parking. The FD has no respect for anyone in the community.

the street is very narrow - so you have cars double parked on both sides, the ones who didn't bother to move and the ones who double parked...you try having a bus go through

The traffic cops do not have to allow for double parking on alternate side days. Many times they do out of courtesy. On my block near Ave J we are get ticketed for double parking on those days

No, it's the people who double-park who have no respect fpr anyone in the community -- they just selfishly leave their cars there, not caring how much of a traffic jam they make or whom they inconvenience. What if, chas v'sholom, there had been a fire on that block and the fore trucks couldn't come through because some idiotic yutz thought he had a G-d-given right to double park there?
