Brooklyn, NY - Driver Sampled his Load and Spilled It, Too

Brooklyn, NY - A tractor-trailer packed with wine and driven by a man who may have been sampling the cargo overturned on the Gowanus Expressway last night.

The trucker Eddie Davila, 30, of Brooklyn, was charged with drunken driving. "He was just over the limit," a police said.
Davila lost control of the rig and it flipped on its side in the eastbound lanes near the Sixth Avenue entrance ramp in Sunset Park.

All three lanes of the highway were closed as workers cleared debris and righted the truck. It was unclear what caused the crash, although sources said alcohol was a factor.
Davila was treated for cuts at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, and no other vehicles were involved and no one else was injured.
