Buchanan, NY - Nuclear Power Plant Sirens to be Tested Tomorrow Night

Buchanan, NY - For the first time, the Indian Point nuclear power plant siren system will be tested during the evening hours.

The 154-siren network will sound tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. At that time, the sirens will be activated for three to four minutes. Until now, siren tests were conducted during the morning hours.
If the sirens were sounded during an actual emergency, residents would listen to an Emergency Alert System radio or television station for information and instructions about any action to be taken.
