Melbourne, Australia - Three teenagers have appeared in court for vandalism and theft at Melbourne's home of Jewish football and cricket - the David Mandie Pavilion at Albert Park.
Four vandals broke into the headquarters of the Ajax Football Club and Maccabi Ajax Cricket Club in the early morning hours, smashing windows, destroying trophy cabinets and stealing club memorabilia.
They were also charged with causing similar damage at two other venues in the area.
Two of the boys, aged 14 and 17, were arrested at the scene one of them was apprehended while hiding in a refrigerator.
They appeared in Children's Court charged with burglary, theft and criminal damage.
Police arrested two other boys later.
Ajax Football Club president Amir Perzuck said that the clubroom resembled a bombsite. "I think there were 35 broken windows between us and the other clubrooms ... there's glass everywhere. It's just a complete mess," he said. "The windows can all be fixed but it's just disappointing to see all the old trophies bent and smashed."
