New York, NY - City To Spray Mosquito Pesticide
New York, NY - New York City's Health Department will be spraying tonight pesticide on Staten Island and Brooklyn to cut down on mosquitoes and reduce the risk from the West Nile virus.
The health department will spray pesticide from trucks on tonight between 7:45 p.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Staten Island neighborhoods to be sprayed are: Eltingville, Blue Hebron Park, Richmond Valley, Butler Manor, Mount Loretto, Pleasant Plains and Prince's Bay.
In Brooklyn, Greenwood Heights, Greenwood Cemetery, Windsor Terrace and Sunset Park will be sprayed.
If you have asthma or other respiratory problems you should stay inside during the spraying.
Also, food sold or prepared outdoors in the spraying area should be covered with plastic.
Vents on air conditioners should be closed, or choose the "exhaust" function on the A.C.
