Queens, NY - Weiner, Lancman Seek Protection for Boro Jewish Groups

Queens, NY - U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-Forest Hills) and Democratic District Leader Rory Lancman announced that they will join forces to protect non-profit institutions in the borough, including synagogues, yeshivas and Jewish community centers against terrorism.

Weiner has been pushing the Department of Homeland Security to release $25 million in already apportioned funds to protect non-profit organizations. Lancman, who is also a candidate for state Assembly, will call on New York state to set up a similar program, offering grants to local organizations identified as potential targets of terrorism.
