Thompson, NY - Illegal Parkers Beware For Parking Violations Crackdown

Thompson, NY - Officials and local police are talking about cracking down on parking violators.
The town already has parking fines in place but is considering revamping the fine amounts.

The new fines might range from $250 to $400 for illegally parking in a handicapped spot; $50-$125 for double-parking and $20-$80 for lingering in a no-parking zone.

The town Councilmen like the idea of putting envelopes - along with parking tickets - on drivers' windshields - making it easier for them to pay fines. The county sheriff's department proposed the idea during a recent meeting with Thompson Supervisor Tony Cellini, having the envelopes will make it easier to collect the revenue.
