Israel +One Killed, Three Injured in Rishon Letzion Car Bomb+

Israel - Police and Fire Department are on the scene for a car bomb that exploded in Rishon Letzion with one person, the driver of the car that blew up, DOA in the blast and at least three others injured from the attack, sustaining moderate and slight injuries, the Magen David Adom rescue service is also on the scene. The casualties appeared to be passersby unconnected to the attack.

‪The blast took place on the corner of Herzl and Hacarmel streets, an intersection that is usually crowded on Friday afternoons before Shabbas.
Cars at the junction and buildings as far as 200 meters away were damaged. Police closed off the area and the Bomb Squad were on the scene.

Police at the scene are saying, that the blast appeared to be criminal motivated because the bomb was under the driver's seat and only the driver was killed in the attack. Suicide bombers traditionally carry out attacks aimed at causing the highest number of casualties.

The explosion took place as police were tightening security ahead of Yom Kippur holiday.
