Lakeland, FL - Massive Manhunt Heats Up for Accused Cop Killer

Lakeland, FL - Hundreds of police were swarming "through every square inch" of thickly overgrown Florida woods this morning as the manhunt intensified for an accused cop killer.
"I want to say to his friends, that if you try to hide him or move him, we'll put you in jail," said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd at a news conference in Lakeland. "We're watching associates, we're watching their movements, we're watching people who we have linked to him all over the state of Florida at this time," he said.

Police insist they will not rest until they capture the man, whom they suspect of killing a sheriff's deputy and wounding another during a routine traffic stop yesterday. They think he is involved in a narcotics ring.
Deputy Vernon Matthew "Matt" Williams, a 12-year veteran of the department, and his police dog "Diogi" were shot to death, Judd said.
Deputy Doug Speirs was shot in the leg and is expected to make a full recovery. He was treated and released at a hospital.

The FBI is trying to track a Cell phone call of a woman trapped in a car of a trunk she called and stated her car was hijacked, she was kidnapped and shot, and is locked in the trunk of her car, and teh highjacker  fits the description of the suspect.

Cellular Tower phones are being monitored around the area, and have involved several cellular company's to help. Police can not confirm if this is a hoax's, but take the call very seriously, and have congregated outside a Seffner convenience store, investigating the possible carjacking, and the victim may be trapped in her trunk nearby, her car is a red 1998 Ford Contour with Utah license plates.

Good shooting by the Fla. cops.

This not only will stop this mad dog from EVER killing anyone again (say if he were to escape during his trial, the way a guy in Atlanta did earlier this year, killing three people in the process, or escape from jail, or kill a guard or someone else), but it will also save the taxpayers of Florida untold amounts of scarce public money that would have been wasted giving this bum three hots and a cot for the next seven, ten, maybe even 24 years (like "Tookie" Williams or "Mumia") while his endless appeals of his death sentence dragged on and on and on and on . . .
