Monticello, NY - Mosquitoes Show West Nile

Monticello, NY - Mosquito in traps in Monticello recently tested positive for West Nile virus, Sullivan County Health Department officials said.
A mosquito pool in the Southwoods/Carley Brook area of Monticello, a forested area near the county landfill, tested positive on Sept. 1, according to the state Department of Health.

The state says that mosquito season is drawing to a close and mosquitoes will no longer pose a threat after two consecutive nights of a hard freeze.
