Shirley, NY - Two Arrested for Painting Swastikas on Home
Shirley, NY - Two juveniles have been arrested for spray painting swastikas on a home in Shirley, in Suffolk County, NY.
The youngsters, whom police did not name because of their ages, were arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated harassment as a hate crime, for spray painting swastikas on the house. In addition to the hate crime charge, the youngsters were charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief for allegedly throwing the rock.
After an investigation, police said the juveniles confessed.
The suspects were issued appearance tickets and released to the custody of their parents, police said. They will be tried in Family Court at a future, undetermined date.
"These reprehensible acts of hatred will not be tolerated in Suffolk County," said County Executive Steve Levy in a statement.
