The National Weather Service says tornadoes, wind gusts up to 80 miles per hour, rain, hail and lighting are possible in the watch area.
Forecasters were predicting 1 to 2 inches of rain through the night. Many areas are still saturated from rain over the past week, and flooding was possible. A flood watch also was in effect for most of the state because the ground is saturated from previous storms.
