Village Of Kiryas Yoel To The Rescue
Chester -- Eight pre-kindergarten children from the Bronx and their chaperones were taken to Orange Regional Medical Center’s Arden Hill Campus in Goshen this afternoon for minor injuries after the bus they were in struck a overpass on Greycourt Avenue in the Village of Chester.
The chartered bus, from the Susan Wagner Day School in the Bronx, was impounded for inspection. The bus sustained minor damage to the roof.
The remaining 34 children and chaperones were stranded without transportation back home so the Orange County Department of Public Safety contacted the Village of Kiryas Yoel School District, which provided a bus to transport the students and adults home.
The School District also brought lunches, sodas and candy for the stranded kids, who hadn't eaten lunch that day.
Also did Kiryas Yoel volunteers give 15 of the chaperones baseball caps with the village's insignia, said Kiryas Joel Superintendent Steven Bernardo, "Now there'll be 15 people walking around the Bronx tomorrow with other than New York Yankees baseball caps on," he said.

It's a beautiful story. But did you notice how they suddenly "forgot" to mention that it's "a hassidic village"?
