Cyclists Are Celebrating An Easier Ride On The Williamsburg Bridges Pathway
Bicyclists were elated when a major renovation of the Williamsburg Bridge finished two years ago included improvements to the pedestrian and bicycle path.
But they were decidedly displeased at the addition of some two dozen steel plates that stuck up nearly two inches above the pathway. The work to fix this plates started in September, and a smooth path was finished last week.
Yesterday, a bicycle advocacy group, gathered on the Manhattan side of the Williamsburg Bridge to celebrate what riders now say is a much safer ride to and from Brooklyn.
