IL - Student Charged In Hate-Graffiti Case On Campus, Is Scheduled To Appear In Court Today
IL - A Northwestern University freshman accused of scrawling anti-Semitic graffiti on dormitory walls is scheduled to appear in court on felony charges.
Nineteen-year-old Neil N. Gajare, of Kalamazoo, Mich., was charged with institutional vandalism and felony criminal damage to property.
The markings -- found in Sargent Hall, a coeducational dorm at 2245 Sheridan Road -- included swastikas, an anti-Jewish phrase and sketches of a rabbit.
"The graffiti was not on any one student's message board or directed at individual students," said Alan Cubbage, vice president of university relations.
