New York City - Top Narcotics Will Head Organized Crime Unit

New York City - The NYPD's top narcotics cop Assistant Chief Anthony Izzo, has been promoted to run the department's Organized Crime Control Bureau.

"Chief Izzo has done an outstanding job of marshaling the department's resources in our ongoing efforts to combat narcotics trafficking," Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.
Izzo's new responsibilities include vice and auto crimes, a consolidated illegal gun unit and gang intervention.
