Brooklyn, NY - Mayor Commits To Fix Bad Oder Smell In Brooklyn Before He Leave Office

Brooklyn, N.Y. - Mayor M. Bloomberg has promised to get the stench out of Brooklyn before his term expires.
Bloomberg told a Civic Association that his administration during the upcoming months would take steps to eliminate the putrid odors that regularly flow from the Owl's Head Wastewater Treatment Plant, by enclosing the site on Shore Road in Bay Ridge. "I'm making a commitment that it will be fixed before I leave office," he said. The smell of waste gas coming from the plant has been a sore spot for over 50 years in not just Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights, but other nearby communities in Brooklyn that are also affected on windy days.
