Monsey, NY - Second Pedestrian Struck Crossing Road 306
Monsey, NY - A 37-year-old Monsey woman pedestrian was hit by a vehicle last night while crossing Route 306 and First Street, the second such incident in three days.
The impact injured the woman's leg and damaged the vehicle. The woman was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital by Hatzoloh Ambulance Corps.
No charges had been filed against the driver of the vehicle, and police said the accident appeared to be a result of pedestrian error.
Police said that the spots of the accidents were problem areas, which they hoped would be addressed as the town implemented the master plan adopted in 2004. The plan calls for revitalization of the Route 306 and Route 59 corridor in Monsey.
"They're heavily congested areas," police said, "with both vehicular and pedestrian traffic."
