Freehold, NJ - PNC Bank Disputes Joseph Dwek's Claim On Properties

Freehold, NJ - PNC Bank, which has accused Solomon Dwek of defrauding it of $20 million, said a recent claim by Dwek's uncle that he -- not the younger Dwek -- is the true owner of $60 million in properties is "fraught with questions.''

A Superior Court judge last week froze all of Dwek's assets, which led to Joseph Dwek, 54, of Brooklyn, Solomon Dwek's uncle, to file a claim in court asking that the freeze be lifted on some of the properties, he said he had asked his nephew to buy the properties on his behalf but didn't realize until last month that all the properties were actually in the name of Solomon Dwek and his companies.

PNC Bank said Joseph Dwek's claim to unfreeze the assets should be denied because there was no written agreement for the deal for three years until April 24, the same day Solomon Dwek bounced a $25 million check at the bank. Moreover, the $20 million Solomon Dwek, 33 of Ocean Township, is accused of taking was transfered to HSBC Bank, where Joseph Dwek has his lines of credit, according to the court papers.

One corporation that Joseph Dwek owns, Yeshuah LLC, was not formed until last week, even though the elder Dwek claims the he owns all the properties through that company, the bank said.

The matter is scheduled to be heard by Superior Court Judge Alexander D. Lehrer Friday.
