Attention concerned Lakewood residents:
You want action? You want action from the police Dept and so-called organized groups?
Start your own "shomrim" and an official organized patrol at the same time with no direct links to each other. Watch the competition among the groups stir up such police ativity to quell the "shomrim" that the State Police will show up.
Mark my words. Works every time.
And when it hasn't, and the "shomrim" were the ones to catch the "perps", the community then realizes that the local PD is not the one to take care of a heimishe kehillas concerns.

that is so dumb to think that shomrim will catch the perps and not the pd-the police clearly have more resources and are more experianced you seem to put all the blame on the police - they did not do the abduction ,they are not responsible for the lighting in the plaza, and not responsible to be at every corner of lakewood at every minute - that is childesh to think that

The fact is in Williamsburg, boropark, and Crown heights and ect.... before the shomrim were around it was terrible, the police were not able to take care of all the problems, however since the shomrim volunteers come to light and put in a lot of time and energy it all quiet down We all must remember to thank them.

thanking them - i accept , yes they do help.. but to say that you need them to solve a crime bec the police cant is dumb - they are simply an extention of the police they are not instead of them
