New Web Site Teaches About Jewish Diseases
A new Web site was launched to raise awareness about genetic diseases that disproportionately afflict Ashkenazi Jews.
The site "jewishgeneticdiseases," includes information about diseases that are more prevalent among Jews of Eastern European descent, including Tay-Sachs, Canavan Disease and Gaucher Disease.

i have heard that these tests are quite costly and not covered by insurance. this is not necessarily true. you can call up NYU Hospital and ask for their genetic testing department, tell them which insurance you have and what you need done. you might be able to get it all taken care of for as little as thirty dollars. of course, not everyone will have that luck, others may have to pay more. just wanted to let you all know what i found out by doing the homework.
