Lakewood, NJ - Cops To Release Updated Sketch On Abduction Suspect

Lakewood, NJ - Authorities are expected to release an updated composite sketch of the man they believed abducted and assaulted a Lakewood woman.

The 20-year-old woman was taken from a parking lot outside the TrimGym Fitness Center on Madison Avenue on the night of May 7. She was held overnight and then returned eight hours later to an area near the abduction site while the search was underway, police
said.

Ocean County Executive Assistant Prosecutor Robert A. Gasser said authorities will be releasing an updated sketch hoping the public will respond with information on a suspect, who remains at large. "There are similarities to the original sketch but there are enough differentials to make a difference,'' for instance, the suspect has a one-inch scar running down from his hairline.

Gasser said there are also additional details regarding the vehicle police believe was used in the crime. "We have been looking for a dark green Jeep Cherokee,'' Gasser said. "We are now looking for that vehicle but with blue seat covers with a floral pattern, '' and we believe the man is still in the area.

The incident is under investigation by several agencies including Lakewood police, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the FBI.
