Hollywood, FL - Request For More Time Over Synagogue Deal Denied

Hollywood, FL - A judge has denied requests for more time in a religious discrimination lawsuit brought against the city of Hollywood by an Orthodox synagogue.

Hollywood city officials had offered the Hollywood Community Synagogue a last-minute deal to end the five-year dispute, and the congregation wanted more time to consider the offer. But the judge decided against that.
The lawyers in the case now have until Wednesday afternoon to have reached a settlement, the federal judge gave the city of Hollywood and the Orthodox synagogue until 3 pm Wednesday to sign a deal ending their feud or be ready to start trial Thursday morning.
