Catskill Region - Rapidly Becoming Year-Round Kosher Haven
Catskill Region - A number of Chasidic groups are planning to develop year-round communities in the Catskills, which was largely known as a summer resort.
The Catskills was perceived to be the summer haven for Jews, who emigrate from New York City and other neighboring Jewish communities.
But some Chasidic groups are making their move in the Catskills to address the critical housing shortage for their rapidly growing constituencies.
Also a sign of this future is the Homowack Hotel, it was sold to a group affiliated with the Skwer Chasidim from New Square, NY. Although it was initially rumored that the hotel would immediately be razed in favor of a housing development, the developers intend to continue operating the facility as a year-round glatt kosher hotel for the foreseeable future. The resort is being renamed "Spring Mountain Resort."
The developers intend to invest considerable capital into upgrading the hotel and are making a pitch for year-round business in the form of groups and special events.

if only it should happen already
if there was a new development next to monroe , maybe even as far as middletown, believe it would fill up in no time
most of us are tired of paying 1mil for a 20x60 house
when you can live in a nice house for 350k with over 3000 sq ft living space + front and backyard

You can buy in Woodbury, Village of Monroe, Harriman, walking distance from KJ and your kids can go there in school. Your just good to write on the internet. So long as your parents, in laws, siblings, etc. will stay in the city, you will too.
