Baltimore, MD - Government Announces Grant to Improve Security

Baltimore, MD - The Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention has given the Northwest Citizens Patrol (NWCP) a grant which will allow them to hire off-duty police officers to patrol the community on Friday nights and on Yom Tov nights, in addition to the regular NWCP patrol, After the leadership alerted the government about an increase in break-ins, and a spate of personal attacks on Jewish residents, many happening during Shabbas, the government agreed to release funding for additional increase in security for this vulnerable times.
 
The grant provides enough funding to cover this initiative for the next few months. While the exact details are still being formulated, they expect the added patrol to start this coming Friday night.
