Montgomery County, MD - Swastika Painted On Campaign Sign
Montgomery County, MD - Montgomery County police are investigating after a red swastika was discovered on one of Councilmember Steve Silverman's campaign signs. Silverman is a Democratic candidate for Montgomery County executive.
A call came into the campaign office reporting the desecration of the sign on Spencerville Road, just east of New Hampshire Avenue.
"I am very disheartened over this anti-semitic hate crime," said Silverman. "Montgomery County is a wonderful, diverse county made up of all religions and cultures. There is no place in our county for this kind of hateful act of vandalism, particularly one that shows a symbol that denotes a very horrible and tragic period in our history."

Enough is enough. According to an unnamed police source, a witness to the late night/early morning “desecration” of the Silverman sign said that he saw a man jump out of a dark SUV bearing a “Silverman for Executive” bumper sticker and spray paint the offensive symbol on the sign. The man quickly jumped back in the SUV and sped off. Of course, it’s only a coincidence that the sign is very close to Leggett headquarters.
Interesting how whenever things are going badly for Silverman (Subin or Duncan), they have to play the anti-Semitic or race card. NO other Montgomery County politician uses tactics, which are this distasteful, disingenuous or divisive.
In a desperate attempt to save his floundering campaign, Silverman, who believes he must win AT ANY COST, has attempted to perpetrate a heinous deception on the citizens of Montgomery County in hopes that it will generate sympathy, mobilize the Jewish vote and secure his place on his developer funded throne.
