Geneva, Switzerland - Cemetery Law Requires Jews and Muslims to be Buried in Public Burials, To Build Tolerance
Geneva, Switzerland - Jews in Geneva want private religious burials.
They are pressing to change a cemetery law in the city that requires Jews, Muslims and all people to be buried in public ceremonies as part of efforts to build tolerance.
The Jewish community has long gotten around the issue by burying their dead in a cemetery that has an entryway in Switzerland and graves in France, but that cemetery is filling up.
