Port Kent, NY - Bottled Water Company's Products Recalled

Port Kent, NY - State officials have recalled bottled water that is possibly contaminated with dirt and coliform bacteria, said Roger Jakubowski, owner of North Country Spring Water Ltd. of Port Kent, N.Y.

New York Health Department spokesperson said state authorities had not confirmed any illnesses tied to the tainted water.
The FDA said coliform bacteria violate the New York sanitary code and indicate other harmful bacteria might be present.
In addition to the coliform were diatoms -- material like clay and that could indicate a problem with the company's filters.
