Brooklyn, NY - Businessman Pleads Guilty For Stealing Diamonds
Brooklyn, NY - A businessman has pleaded guilty to stealing about $1.4 million in diamonds from 43 dealers around the country.
He was charged with grand larceny in the second degree and scheming to defraud in the first degree. He faces up to 15 years in state prison.
The man operated a wholesale diamond business between Aug. 11, 2004, and Dec. 31, 2004, in White Plains, Westchester County.
He took diamonds on consignment from the dealers and paid them with bad checks, didn't pay them or never returned the gems, prosecutors said.
He'll be sentenced June 1, 2006.

I saw it last night on Channel 7. Try www.7online.com and find the story on yesterday's newscast at 11. I believe he's a Bucharian yid. I'm not sure.
