Amnesty International Slams Russia On Anti Semitisim
An Amnesty International report titled “Violent Racism Out of Control, said that Russia should do more to curtail a rising trend of xenophobic attacks.
According to the report,” 28 people were murdered and 366 were assaulted in racial attacks in Russia in 2005. “While we recognize that some representatives of the authorities, including” President Vladimir Putin, “have acknowledged the problem, we believe that the authorities are failing to take adequate steps to tackle the issue,” said Victoria Webb, an Amnesty researcher on Russia.
The report also advises the Russian government to work more closely with anti-racism organizations and provide them with increased protection.
