New York, NY - City Cited Contractors
New York, NY - The City Department of Consumer Affairs has cited 135 contractors for unlicensed operations.
Contractors who are unlicensed face penalties of up to $100 per day, but those cited recently will be given a chance to pay lower fines by obtaining a license and settling any customers’ complaints, said Commissioner Jonathan Mintz.
The department said the contractors were identified through customer complaints. Any contractor performing home repairs worth more than $200 requires a city license.
