Manchester - Jewish Old-Age Home Saved

Manchester - After months of speculation, residents at a Jewish old age home in Manchester have been told that the home will continue to operate.

In August the Greater Manchester Housing Association announced that Newlands, in Salford, north Manchester would be likely to close due to mounting debts.
But now the GMJHA Chief executive David Helman told residents that the property has been bought by Angel Care, which ran the nearby Cherry Trees Care Home.
The home will continue to be fully kosher with the food under the supervision of the Manchester Beth Din (rabbinical court).
