WOW! thats a difference so far of only 3528 votes, that means that if just 1765 Hall voters would have voted for Kelly she would have made it!!!

    No concession for Kelly
Waiting for all votes to be counted By Brendan Scott

    Times Herald-Record
    November 08, 2006
Katonah – Despite a declaration of victory by her Democratic opponent John Hall, Rep. Sue Kelly said this morning that she would not concede defeat until all the all votes – including some 10,000 paper ballots – had been counted.

“Right now it looks like John Hall may have won this election but I am going to insist that every single vote gets counted,” Kelly said at a news conference at her husband’s construction company this afternoon. “This election turned out to reflect national attitudes that John Hall did a very good job of exploiting.”

In unofficial results, it appears that Kelly lost to singer-songwriter Hall by some 3,500 votes. Despite that slim margin – less than two percent of the 181,168 recorded – Kelly said she would not call for a formal recount, a drawn-out process that would allow candidates to scrutinize each ballot cast.

“We just want to give this thing time to let all the votes be counted,” Kelly spokesman Jay Townsend later clarified. “That has not yet happened.”
