Ramapo, NY - Planning A New Preschool
Ramapo, NY - A preschool that provides early intervention for special-needs children plans to build a new 25,000-square-foot school in Ramapo within the next year or so.
The Hebrew Academy for Special Children Inc., which is renting space in Chestnut Ridge, bought 4.4 acres at 47 Mountain Road and applied to the county Industrial Development Agency for approval to sell tax-exempt bonds to finance the new building through the IDA.
The IDA approval was granted. Now the preschool's parent organization must come up with firm plans and timelines, find an agency willing to back the bonds and get an agreement signed by the county executive's office before the process goes further.
