Freehold, NJ - Dwek Says, Signatures Not Forged
Freehold, NJ - Real estate investor Solomon Dwek says he didn't forge the signatures of his mentor or his wife on a $1.5 million mortgage on the couple's Deal summer home, according to Dwek's lawyer.
Dwek "had full authority" to act on behalf of the couple, Jack and Rachel Adjmi, according to Dwek's defense lawyer, Robert A. Weir Jr. Any actions by Dwek were "consistent with the usual and customary methods of business established" between the Adjmis and Dwek, Weir stated in court papers.
Last month, Rachel Adjmi sued Dwek, accusing him of forging her name and the name of her husband in 2000 on a $1.5 million loan that was secured by the couple's oceanfront summer home. She said she only learned about the mortgage in June. Jack Adjmi, Dwek's mentor in the real estate business, died in 2003 at age 75.
Rachel Adjmi's lawsuit accuses Dwek of forging the signatures to obtain the loan for Dwek's personal benefit.
